Why this exists
Most climbing directories are either a scrape with dead links, or indoor-only and nowhere near the grit. We climb in Leek. The useful object is a gym or a crag area — never a named problem copied from someone else’s topo.
What we ship
- 132 indoor gyms across 65 cities — commercial bouldering halls, not every school wall.
- 82 outdoor areas in the Peak, Yorkshire, Northumberland, Lakes, Wales, Dartmoor, the south-west, Scotland, and Fontainebleau massifs.
- City pages, a map, near me, chains, and a submit form.
- Guides for a first session, etiquette, grades, and UK grit kit.
How a gym gets listed
Official website, a real address, and bouldering as a primary offer. We check it by hand. We do not scrape other directories. Clip ’n Climb, uni walls, and ropes-only leisure centres stay out unless they are the actual local session.
Hours and prices
They change. They live on the gym site. We will publish hours a gym confirms in writing — not a number copied from a screenshot last year.
Outdoor access
UK venues point at the BMC Regional Access Database. Wet sandstone is off. Parking notes are generic unless we have stood in the layby.
Money
Listings are free. Featured is labelled and £49/month when city pages have traffic — not before. Gear links may be affiliate. Rankings are not for sale.
FAQ
Is this only the UK?
UK indoor and outdoor first, Fontainebleau as the pilgrimage, Ireland starting. Worldwide indoor is a later pass, city by city, from official sources — not a dump.
Can I add my gym?
Yes. Add a spot. We review before it goes live.
Do you have an app?
No. The site works on a phone. Near me uses the browser’s location permission.
